Ms. Tym began teaching at UTC in 1973, at which time she also started the Women's Tennis Team. She teaches a wide range of geography courses including Cultural Geography, World Geography, World Resources, Geography of Latin America and Geography of Europe. Her primary research interests include economic development in less developed countries, expatriot settlements in Central America, and land values in rural Tennessee. Ms. Tym has traveled extensively as the 13th ranked tennis player in the world, and is able to enrich her geography courses through first-hand knowledge and through the use of her large collection of slides.
