Cathy Scott came to Chattanooga by way of Leighton, Alabama, a small rural town, a
heritage in which she is extremely proud. Dr. Scott joined the UTC Social Work program
in the fall of 2010. Dr. Scott brings with her more than 20 years of social work
practice experience. She has experience working with diverse populations, but her
most rewarding work is in gerontological social work. Dr. Scott has taught Social
Work Practice, Matters of Race, Ethnicity, Gender and the Family. Dr. Scott is excited
to have the opportunity to mentor rising social workers but continues to collaborate
with community organizations educating and support older adults and their families
when the opportunity presents itself. Cathy is married to Rodney Scott and they have
two beautiful daughters, Sydnee & McKenzie.
Due to a sinkhole next to the building, Grote Hall is closed to access. Only classes in Grote Hall are cancelled Monday. Employees in Grote do not need to report to work Monday.
All other classes and campus operations remain on normal schedule.
