Kathy Goodridge-Purnell originates from London, England. She lived and grew up in a multi-cultural environment in West London, UK, where she developed an interest in diversity, international social work, empowerment and issues related to social & economic justice. She joined the UTC Social Work department in the fall of 2005, and brings extensive teaching and practice experience to her role as the Field Education Coordinator & Instructor. She has taught a variety of practice classes while preparing students for Field Education. Kathy’s areas of interest include individual and community practice, program & curriculum development, and diversity awareness. She is in the final stages of dissertation completion, and is preparing to participate in several national and regional Social Work Conferences. She is married to Franklin and they have three lovely children, the oldest is 13, and the twins are 11 and a half.
