Michael E. Sherr, PhD, LCSW, joined UTC in 2012 as Social Work Department Head. He is a nationally recognized educator and scholar with more than 50 publications on several areas of scholarship including faith and practice, volunteerism, practice with at-risk youth, and evidence-based practice. He is co-editor of the CSWE Religion and Spirituality Clearinghouse, Associate editor of the Journal of Social Work and Christianity, and is currently a guest editor for the Journal of Evidence Based Social Work. He currently serves as a Commissioner on the Commission for Education Policy for CSWE.
In addition to his research, Dr. Sherr has years of practice experience serving in family, mental health, and hospice settings.
He is married to Stacey and the couple has three children, Brandon (1998), Noah (2001), and Grace (2004).
