How Long Can I Receive the HOPE Scholarship?

Beginning Fall 2015, you can receive the HOPE Scholarship until one of the following occurs first:

  • you have earned a Baccalaureate degree; OR
  • you have been enrolled for 5 years at any postsecondary institution; OR
  • *you meet 120 attempted HOPE hours or have received the HOPE Scholarship for eight (8) full-time equivalent semesters, whichever occurs later.

Our Where Do I Find My HOPE GPA - Tutorial will assist you in tracking your HOPE attempted hours. Please be aware there is no appeal for these terminating criteria.

*If your major requires more than 120 hours to earn a degree, as defined in the University Catalog, you will be able to receive HOPE funds up to that amount of hours or up to 136 attempted hours, whichever is less, or for eight (8) full-time equivalent semesters, whichever occurs later.

Presently, the below programs are allowed to exceed the 120 maximum...
