The Felicia Sturzer Women's Studies Scholarship

The Felicia Sturzer Women's Studies Scholarship was established to honor and reward academic achievement in Women's Studies.  The scholarship was named for the founding coordinator of UTC's Women's Studies Program, Dr. Felicia Sturzer, who retired in May 2013 after 35 years of teaching. To be considered for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must have declared your Women’s Studies major with the UTC Records Office (Humanities: Women’s Studies).
  • You must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
  • You must have completed at least 15 semester hours of Women’s Studies coursework.
  • You must have a GPA of at least 3.5 in Women’s Studies coursework.

Additionally, the Women’s Studies Scholarship Committee may require an interview as part of the selection process, and their assessment of your responses to their questions during this interview may factor into the selection process.

If you meet the criteria listed above, you are encouraged to apply. Please complete the application, answering all questions as fully and accurately as possible. As directed, please return the application, your letter of interest and one recommendation letter to the Women's Studies Office (Dept #2703, Holt 338D or by email to Marcia-Noe@utc.edu) no later than Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
