Marissa Nesbit

Marissa, the director of dance education at SCEA, was previously the director of education and outreach for the North Carolina Dance Theatre in Charlotte, where she created curriculum materials, presented workshops, and supervised a team of teaching artists and professional dancers presenting arts integration residencies. She has worked with Verb Ballets and Dancing Wheels (Cleveland, OH) and TWU Dance Works (Denton, TX). Marissa has experience with special needs children at the Brighton School (San Antonio) and Teach for America (New Orleans). As a dancer and choreographer, she has presented works at numerous local and regional venues, and has been a choreographer-in-residence for high school and college dance programs.
