Programs for Minors Training
We offer two basic types of training to help anyone who manages or works with minors at UTC put the pieces together and have a successful camp or event!
Training for Program Directors or Administrative Leads
Program Leads can participate in training to better understand the UT System Programs for Minors policy and the best way to administer the program. If you would like training or have questions about the program, please call our office at 423-425-5741.
Training for Program Staff
Staff for your programs must complete Child Abuse/Protection training every two (2) years to meet the needs of the UT policy. There are several ways this training may be obtained.
For those with a UTC ID, training may obtained online.
- Camp staff may go to the UT Skillsoft Training Site. Complete instructions are listed on this page, and their training will automatically be recorded in IRIS. Proof of completion may be obtained by clicking on the ribbon next to the course listing under the "My Progress" tab in Skillsoft.
- Camp staff may also obtain training on UTC Learn. UTC Learn site access may be obtained by sending a list of camp staff, including their UTC ID, to email@example.com. Once they have been added to the UTC Learn organization, your will be notified, and staff will see the organization listing on their regular UTC Learn home page. This training is manually tracked in our office, and email notifications will be sent once training is completed.
For those staffers who do not have a UTC ID, or for large groups, training can be conducted via classroom by a Safety and Risk Management staff member or by the your program's director or lead administrator. Training must follow the PowerPoint Presentation exactly and verification of this training must be included as a part of the registration packet. Here's a sign-in sheet you can use to document this training: Staff Training Verification Form.
In addition, Program staff may view the PowerPoint Presentation and take this quiz online. Once they have completed these steps, they should email Safety & Risk Management, and we will send confirmation of completion of this training to the appropriate program.
Call us if you would prefer to have someone from our office conduct this training with you. 423-425-5741.
