Join the Great UTC Shakeout

Millions of people worldwide will practice how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On on October 16 during the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills!

You can join the rest of the world by participating right here at UTC. Here's how...

How do I participate?

On Thursday, October 16, at 10:45 am, practice how you will Drop, Cover, and Hold On, for at least 60 seconds:

DROP to the ground (before the earthquake drops you!)
-  Take COVER by getting under a sturdy desk or table (or against a wall with your arms covering your head/neck), and
HOLD ON to your shelter until the shaking stops (hang out there and look around at what objects could potential fall on you, injuries that could possibly occur, and make a plan for any future real earthquake disasters)

If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building. Do not try to run to another room just to get under a table.

You survived the drill...now what?

Tell everyone! "Where were you when you "dropped, covered, and held on"? Post a picture or share your experience with the campus on UTC Prepare Facebook, Twitter #UTCshakeout, #SafeMOCS & #UTCPrepare! You can also share it on the UTC Facebook and Twitter sites.
