Bachelor of Science in
Political Science & Public Service
The UTC Department of Political Science & Public Service offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science & Public Service with concentrations in American Studies, International and Comparative Studies, Legal Studies, Public Policy, and Public Administration and Nonprofit Management. Descriptions of each concentration are available here.
There are three required Political Science courses for each concentration. These courses include: American Government (POLS 1010); World Politics (POLS 1020); and Research Methods (POLS 2000).
To graduate, students must complete UTC's General Education requirements, which include:
- Completing the major requirements in one of the concentrations;
- Completing the requirements for a minor outside the department;
- Fulfilling the University requirement of 120 credit hours for graduation; and
- Achieving at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average both overall and in major courses in all courses taken at UTC.
To aid students in their educational journey the Department offers many internship opportunities. These internships are critical for students in giving them insights into their chosen field of study.
