ACT Residual

General Information:

The ACT Residual (ACTR) is a three-hour exam for students that are seeking entrance into the Teacher Education Program or admission into UTC.

The Math Department uses the math score from the ACT or the ACTR in order to determine the correct math course placement for a student.

The ACTR test score is only valid for UTC and cannot be transferred to another university.  If you are planning to use your ACTR score in order to apply for scholarships, please check with the Admissions Office (423-425-4662) to be sure the residual exam satisfies scholarship requirements.

On test day, a total of three and one-half hours will be required for exam administration.

Fee: $60 payable to UTC by cash, check or money order (non-refundable)

Test Dates:  The ACTR is scheduled by appointment only based on availability in Hooper Hall, room 205. Once we have received the registration form and payment, we will email to arrange a testing time.
