The program supports research that will further the understanding of evidence-based and effective practices in mentoring programs that serve at-risk youth. Research is needed to demonstrate the specific components of mentoring programs that have a significant impact in reducing juvenile delinquency and offending. The program will fund research studies that will inform the design and delivery of mentoring programs. Results should encourage a more effective utilization of resources and enhance the implementation of best practices for juvenile mentoring.
