With its CISE Research Infrastructure (CRI) program, CISE drives discovery and learning in the Computer and Network Systems; Computing and Communication Foundations; Informal and Intelligent Systems disciplines through support for the creation and enhancement of world-class computing research infrastructure. Further, through the CRI program CISE seeks to ensure that individuals from a diverse range of academic institutions, including minority-serving and predominantly undergraduate institutions, have access to such infrastructure. The CRI program supports two classes of awards: institutional Infrastructure awards and Community Infrastructure awards.
The RIF Program was established to facilitate the rapid insertion of innovative small business technologies into military systems or programs that meet critical national security needs. The program aims to resolve operational challenges or other critical national security needs characterized by defense component requirements or rapid innovation science and technology thrust areas.
