DNP Logo  Application Process

Students seeking admission into the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) must meet the admission requirements of both the Graduate School and the UTC School of Nursing DNP Program. The completed application must be submitted by the appropriate deadline. 

DNP: Nursing for applicants with a MSN in an advanced practice nursing or nursing administration specialty, the application deadline (normally June 1) has been extended to September 1, 2015. The entry term for this program is Spring

DNP: Nursing: Nursing Administration for applicants with a BSN or higher interested in specializing in Nursing Administration, the application deadline  (normally June 1) has been extended to September 1, 2015. The entry term for this program is Spring

Applicants must have the appropriate degree from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, and documentation of all items requested as part of the application. Applicants will need the following form when requested during the application process to verify clinical hours: APN Clinical Hours Verification Form.

Important Application Information

You now have the opportunity to apply to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga’s DNP and MSN programs through NursingCAS, a centralized application service for nursing. When you create your NursingCAS account the first page you will be directed to is the “Full Programs List” where you can search for and select your program(s) of interest. If you have already created your NursingCAS account you can navigate to “Full Programs List” by clicking on the “Manage My Programs” button on the application homepage. In the “Program Materials” section for any programs selected you can view the full details and requirements on the program homepage(s).  You will only be required to complete the Nursing CAS application process initially.  You will not be required to apply to the UTC Graduate School unless you are recommended for entry into the program.

Applicants may create an account on NursingCAS and start their application now. Please ensure that you use the following link: Note that applicants are charged a fee to use NursingCAS. For graduate level degree programs, you will be charged $65 for the first program selected and $35 for each additional program selected.
