Book signing scheduled for Cress book
UTC Guerry Professor of Art George Cress, whose paintings and drawings are
featured in George Cress: Paintings and Drawings, 1953-2005, will
be visiting the Hunter Museum of Art Gift Shop for a book signing on Sunday,
July 16, from 2-4 p.m.
Proceeds from sales of the book will be donated to the Friends of the Cress Gallery, located in the UTC Fine Arts Center.
The book also includes an introduction by artist and Chattanooga alumnus Barry Moser. Moser writes of his friend, mentor, and teacher, “His color still stuns and surprises me to this day. In fact, I think that George Cress is one of the most remarkable colorists of his and my generation.”
George Cress: Paintings and Drawings, 1953-2005 is available for purchase at several local bookstores and gift shops, including:
