New SGA Officers elected
Newly elected Student Government Association (SGA) officers for 2005-2006 are President Amy Prevost, a junior with a double major of marketing and entrepreneurship; Vice President Cacey Lewis, sophomore communications major, and Lydia Grafton, sophomore marketing major with a minor in communication.
A
member of Chi Omega Sorority, Amy Prevost won this year’s
Dorothy Woodworth Award for an Outstanding Junior Woman. She is the president
of the American Marketing Association at UTC. She is Panhellenic Treasurer
and served as Program Chair for three years. She has received the SGA
Leadership Merit Award and the Most Outstanding Greek Female, new member in
Freshman year. She earned the title of Miss Greek Goddess for 2005. Her
community service includes raising funds by co-chairing the Mr. UTC pageant
for Make-A-Wish Foundation and serving as the Greek Show Chair to support the
Chambliss Shelter. She also participated in Unity for the Community’s
efforts to landscape, paint, and cleanup at Scenic Land School.
Cacey Lewis has been involved in the Multicultural Student
Alliance. She was Vice President in 2004. Lewis served as SGA Senator
in 2004-2005, NAACP member in 2005, and Homecoming Co-Chair. She
also participated in Premier Assistant Summer in 2004. Lewis is a student
assistant for Undergraduate Admissions. Lewis plans to graduate by May
2007 and begin a career in public relations.
Lydia
Grafton is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Inc. She served as the secretary of the Student Alumni Council. She
is the marketing intern for Aramark, and recently planned the Crossroads
Extravaganza. She has been a team member for Freshman Friday. Grafton is
a member of Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma National
Honor Society. She has been a member and mentor of Student Support Services.
Grafton has been a cast member of the UTC production of The Vagina Monologues for
two years.
