Groves named 2005 Beta Alpha Psi Accountant of the Year
Charles F. Groves III Charles F. Groves III, CPA, Principal in Charge of Assurance Services at Joseph Decosimo & Company, was recognized as the 2005 Beta Alpha Psi Accountant of the Year at the annual Beta Alpha Psi Awards Banquet held recently at the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club.
Groves is head of the audit practice of Joseph Decosimo & Company and has over 24 years of audit experience with the firm. Audit clients served include non-profit and governmental organizations, employee benefit plans, construction contractors, and manufacturers. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves on the Accounting Advisory Board for the Department of Accounting at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the Advisory Committee for Accounting Technology at Chattanooga State Community College, and is a member of the state council of the TSCPA.
He is past President of the Chattanooga Chapter of the TSCPA and has served on the Peer Review and the Continuing Professional Education Committees of the TSCPA. He is the past chairman of the Audit Committee for the Tennessee Baptist Convention and has served as Vice Chairman of the Deacon Council and Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committees of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga. He also served as Treasurer of the Mental Health Association of Southeast Tennessee for over ten years.
He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
