UTC
helps sponsor international web conference
Selected as the sole U.S. sight to host the cre824 Web Conference, Chattanooga attracted teams of web designers and developers recently to engage in competition.

Participants hard at work on their site.“Technology is a major initiative
for the University, and I am proud that UTC helped sponsor this event. This was
a great experience for the UTC students and faculty members who attended the
conference. It has generated nationwide interest,” said
April Cox, Graphic Design Manager.
Design teams at cre824 worked to qualify for the Webdesign International Festival to be held in Limoges, France February 2-4, 2006. Pre-selection events were held simultaneously in Belgium, Canada, Spain, France, Poland, Russia, United States, Brazil, and Romania.
The participants’ task was to produce a website on a specific theme in 24 hours. This year’s topic was “To act, or not to act: our planet in 50 years’ time.”
You can view the 12 teams’ sites created locally and learn more about the conference from the cre824 website. The international sites and information on the final competition can be found at the Webdesign International Festival website.
