Ms. Leamon worked primarily in the medical field until she met her late husband saxophonist Ed Leamon. He introduced her to the world of music which ultimately led to a position in a recording studio. During her tenure there she met song writers, producers and musicians such as Danny Shirley of Confederate Railway and legends Greg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band and Davey Jones of The Monkees and members of the group Alabama. She was presented an honorary platinum record for her production work on the Bertie Higgins million-seller hit "Just Another Day in Paradise".
In 1987 she joined the UTC Music Department and was assigned to the band, working with band director Tony D'Andrea. She enjoyed traveling with the band to "away" games, exhibitions, Pep Band trips to Southern Conference and working closely with the students. In 2003 she moved to the main office of the Music Department as Administrative Assistant. She is responsible for all aspects of the music office and is the music audition coordinator. She has also served as an alternate on the Employee Relations Committee.
