The UTC Choral program is comprised of five choral groups: Choral Union, Men's Chorus, Women's Chorale, Chattanooga Singers, Chamber Singers and the summer Master Chorale. Each group performs at least one concert a semester on campus, and some perform many concerts a semester. Students participating in Chamber Singers, the elite group among the choral ensembles, may have the opportunity to tour in Tennessee, in the Southeastern United States, or internationally once every three years.
The Choral program is headed up by Dr. Kevin Ford, coordinator of Choral Activities. Dr. Ford directs Choral Union, as well as the Chattanooga and Chambers Singers. The Master Chorale is a community chorale group that serves as a lab choir for graduate choral conducting students during the summer. They perform one concert and are jointly directed by Dr. Ford and graduate student conductors. The Men's Chorus is directed by Music Department head, Dr. Lee Harris, and the Women's Chorale is directed by Dr. Rebecca Atkins. For more information about any of these groups, please contact the director.
