James B. Frazier, Jr. (1890-1978) was a United States Attorney, Eastern District of Tennessee (1933-1948), and U.S. Representative, Third Congressional District of Tennessee (1949-1963). Marilyn Lloyd papers

A Democrat elected to the 94th Congress in 1974 and reelected to each succeeding Congress until she retired in 1994. She served on the following Congressional committees: House Armed Services Committee; Select Committee on Aging; Subcommittee on Housing and Consumer Affairs (Chair); House Science, Space and Technology Committee; Subcommittee on Energy Research and Development (Chair); TVA Caucus; and Textile Caucus. Press clips; Floor information from each Congressional session; her voting record; legislative correspondence; subject files; district projects; speeches; and files relating to the Armed Services Committee and miscellaneous other legislative activities.

Frank Prescott Papers

Frank Prescott (1896-1981) was a Political science professor, University of Chattanooga (1928-1967); delegate to four Tennessee Constitutional Conventions. Materials cover state constitutional revisions, executive veto (esp. New York), civil rights, communism and the red scare (including McCarthyism), campaign memorabilia and ephemera, government organization, municipal government, Tennessee state and local politics, and World War II letters and Nazi newspapers from former students in military service.

John H. Rous photographs

John H. Rous (1912-1995) was a Chattanooga native and a photographer who worked for the Washington Times, 1934-1938; Washington Times-Herald, 1939-1944; and was an Associated Press photographer, 1944-1971. He was a member of the White House News Photographer Association and served as its President, 1958-1959. Photographs (many signed) of American presidents, world leaders and celebrities, including Winston Churchill, Presidents Franklin Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon; celebrities Lucille Ball, Maureen O’Hara, Roy Rogers, James Cagney, and Queen Elizabeth.

Joel Solomon papers

Mr. Joel Solomon (1922-1984) was the head of the General Services Administration under President Carter, from 1977-1979. Previous to that, he had served as chairman of the Human Resources Committee of the Greater Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce; Chief Executive Officer of the Arlen Shopping Centers of Chattanooga; Senior Vice President and board member of the Arlen Realty and Development Corporation. The collection consists primarily of his Washington Papers as Head of the GSA.
