Patten-Hyde papers

Salem Hyde (1905-1969) was a Cleveland, Tennessee insurance businessman and amateur archaeologist. His collection includes artifacts and pottery as well as correspondence, especially with Emilio Estrada, magazines and magazine articles dealing with archeology in the 1950s and 60s, books, photographs and slides relating to Latin America archeology sites. Given by Mr. Hyde in 1969.

Ruth Clark Perry class notes

Ruth Clark Perry was professor (1922-1955) and Head, Math Department and Dean of Women (1922-1952), University of Chattanooga. Extensive handwritten notes of calculus textbooks which may have been subsequently used as an outline for courses in calculus.

Frank Prescott Papers

Frank Prescott (1896-1981) was a Political science professor, University of Chattanooga (1928-1967); delegate to four Tennessee Constitutional Conventions. Materials cover state constitutional revisions, executive veto (esp. New York), civil rights, communism and the red scare (including McCarthyism), campaign memorabilia and ephemera, government organization, municipal government, Tennessee state and local politics, and World War II letters and Nazi newspapers from former students in military service.
