Borrowing from Other Libraries
In the case that the UTC Library doesn't have the resource you need, we make it easy to get materials from other places. We do this through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service, TBR borrowing cards, and your Mocs card.
InterLibrary Loan (ILL) Service
Did you find something in our catalog that the UTC Library doesn't own, or that is already checked out by another user? Not to fear! In our catalog, if our Library does not have access to the item, or if our copy is checked out to someone else, you will see a "Request Item via ILLiad (InterLibrary Loan)" button in blue.
Click that button, log in with your UTC ID and password, and make the request electronically. Our interlibrary loan staff will find you a copy living at another library somewhere in the world, and have that library send it to us for you. When your desired item arrives (either in book form at our Circulation desk, or in electronic form in your ILL account), we'll send you an email to let you know it's ready for you. You can log into your ILL account here.
Borrowing from other UT and TBR Libraries
Can't wait for us to find you a copy, or really want to use another college or university library in the UT/TBR system? Borrowing from other libraries in the UT and TBR system is super easy!
- At other UT schools, all you need to bring with you is your UTC ID, the magic Mocs Card. Make sure you have the current year's sticker on the back of the card! If you didn't get a new sticker upon registering for this academic year, you can stop by the Mocs Card office in the University Center and ask for one.
- At TBR schools, you have to present a TBR Borrower Card and a photo ID. You can get one of these nifty TBR Borrower Cards by filling out this form here, or if you're planning to be in the Library, you can stop by the Circulation desk and ask for one.
