UTC Library Collections
The UTC Library provides access to a world of information in every format available from books,e-books, and journals to online databases, digital image collections, CDs and DVDs. We also check out a variety of technological devices like laptops, chromebooks, digital and video cameras, scientific calculators, and sundry cables.
All items are available to current UTC students, faculty, and staff for check out and many resources can be accessed online from home via the UTC Library WorldCat Local system. Home access requires your UTC id and password. Community borrowers, alumni, and retired UTC faculty and staff also have library privileges, but access and policies vary.
You can search the UTC Library collections through a number of different tools. The most popular tool to search our collection of physical items (books, dvds, microfilm etc...) and online subscriptions (journals, articles, and e-books) is via UTC Library's WorldCat Local catalog. You can also search or browse collections by format, subject, or collection by utilizing the links on the left navigation bar.
Finally, UTC Library's collections are not limited to current research. Our Special Collections and University Archives, along with UTC Digital Collections, provide access to unique, primary sources materials. The collection focuses mainly on items and information related to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the city of Chattanooga, TN, the state of Tennessee, and the American South.
Many collections have been digitized and made available via the UTC Digital Collections; however, not all items are appropriate for digitization and can be found by visiting the Special Collections and Archives on the 4th Floor of the library.
