PRE-MAJOR COURSES


INTD 1000 - Design Fundamentals

(3) Credit Hours

A study of design as related to the individual and his or her environment; review of the basic theories including the elements and principles of design with emphasis on using design to solve utilitarian as well as aesthetic problems. Fall and spring semesters. Studio 5 hours. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed. 


INTD 1100 - Architectural Drafting

(3) Credit Hours
An introduction to architectural drafting including the study of symbols and drafting techniques necessary to the understanding and drawing of architectural plans. Fall and spring semester. Studio 5 hours. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed. 


INTD 1150 - Volume, Space, & Form

(3) Credit Hours


Interior Design model building practices with emphasis on study models, presentation models and proto-typical models and how they relate to the overall design process. Spring semesters. Studio 5 hours. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.

 

INTD 2050 - Color Systems

(3) Credit Hours

Experimentation in color systems and their use in interior design; analysis of psychological impact of color systems on people; correlation of color scheme to total room design; development of skills for various media and tools used in color planning. Fall semester.   Studio 5 hours. Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Interior Design major or department  head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
