Configure Outlook 2011 for MocsMail+

Special Note

The 'Allow less secure apps' option needs to be enabled in the MocsMail+ account's Google settings.

Directions

  1. Verify your MocsMail+ account has imap enabled (link)
  2. Verify your MocsMail+ account allows non-secure apps (link)
  3. Open 'Outlook 2011’
  4. Select ‘Preferences’
  5. Select ‘Accounts’
  6. Select ‘E-mail Account’
  7. Under the ‘Email Address’ field, enter your MocsMail+ email address (ex: abc123@mocs.utc.edu)
  8. Under the ‘Password’ field, enter your UTC password
  9. Under the ‘Username’ field, enter your UTC email address
  10. Confirm the 'Type' field is 'IMAP'
  11. Under the ‘Incoming Server’ field, enter ‘imap.gmail.com’
  12. Check the 'Use SSL to connect' box
  13. Under the ‘Outgoing Server’ field, enter ‘smtp.gmail.com’
  14. Check the 'Use SSL to connect' box
  15. Check the 'Override default port' box
  16. To the right of the 'Outgoing Server' field, change the '25' to '465'
  17. Select ‘Add Account’
  18. Under the 'Account Description' field, enter a name for your inbox (ex. UTC or MocsMail+)
  19. Under the 'Full Name' field, enter your first and last name (ex. Jane Smith)
  20. Select 'More Options..'
  21. Under the 'Authentication' dropdown, select 'Use incoming server information'
  22. Select 'OK'
  23. Verify you are able to send and receive mail using the account
