The Civil War Era Lecture Series

The Civil War Era Lecture Series seeks to cultivate a rigorous dialogue over past and contemporary issues among the public, student body, and faculty.

Each lecture offers the opportunity for scholars in different disciplines to interact and engage in rigorous intellectual conversations and build a scholarly community across and beyond UTC’s campus.

Students will benefit from the exposure and engagement with recent scholarship, interact with scholars in the classroom.

The lecture series also seeks to forge connections between student majors and minors as well as invite non-student majors to take part in debates and activities about the past and the historical discipline.
