Overview

Media reports are causing the American public to become increasingly concerned about health-related issues in sports, such as the long-term effects of concussion, the potential for catastrophic events, the disabling impact of ACL injuries, and the adequacy of existing safeguards.  This conference is open to athletic trainers, administrators, coaches, parents, physicians, and anyone who might be interested in the issues related to student-athlete health and welfare.

Non-medical attendees do NOT need to pre-register for this conference

The Chattanooga community is invited to attend one or both of the sessions open to the public

(Tuesday evening [April 15th] and Wednesday morning [April 16th])

 

If you are a medical professional who wishes to received CEU's, then please pre-register. 

A maximum of 7.0 CEUs will be awarded to athletic trainers and CME credit will be available to physicians.

PRIORITIES FOR ACTION ON A NATIONAL LEVEL (For medical professionals only)

Wednesday, April 16 – 1 PM to 3 PM

Medical attendees are invited to attend an afternoon panel discussion of health and safety issues that may need consideration for further development of inter-association “best practice” guidelines.

Accreditation
The University of Tennessee College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.


Credit
The University of Tennessee College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
