UTC GATP Recruiting Announcement

If you are an interested student who wishes to be considered for the incoming cohort of 2014, then you will need to have your application materials submitted to the University by Wed., March 12th, 2014No new applications will be accepted after this date.  But if you have already started the application process, then you may still submit any materials still due to the UTC GATP.  However, please submit your remaining materials as soon as possible as we are finalizing our recruiting efforts.

 

Welcome to Graduate Athletic Training

The UTC Graduate Athletic Training Program is a Professional Education (Entry-level) Program.  You will earn a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training.

The Graduate Athletic Training Program at the University of Tennessee is accredited (UTC-GATP) by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). CAATE is sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc. (NATA).  After the last comprehensive review for continued program accreditation, the UTC-GATP was granted the maximum 10-year accreditation. The next comprehensive review is scheduled for 2019.

APPLICATION PROCESS IS OPEN

The UTC GATP is now accepting applications for the next cohort (summer of 2014).  Please be sure to read the application requirements since there have been some minor, yet significant changes made.

A recent report by EducationalPortals.com that will become part of a feature in the USA Today recognizes UTC as being one of the 20 Best Sports Medicine Schools in the United States.  Of the programs listed, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Athletic Training Program is the only Entry-level Master's Program highlighted.  By region, UTC is one of only four (4) schools in the southeast region of the United States that were on the "Best of" list. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clinical instructors, administrators, medical directors and most importantly our students (both current and past students), for the continued support and contributions to the program's success.
