Plan, prepare and instruct library patrons at the Reference Desk individually and/or in groups to use On-line, CD-ROM, Internet, and print sources.

Maintain a high standard of service through self-study, research, conference participation and publishing. Responsible for collection development in the Chemistry, Mathematics and Engineering.

1985- 1976 -  ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/HEAD OF CIRCULATION SERVICES        

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Library - Chattanooga, TN                                        

Administered the operations and services of the Circulation Department. Supervised
4 clerical and  20 student assistants.  Specific responsibilities included planning,
coordinating, and supervising the Circulation and Reserve operations; maintaining library
stacks; participating in Bibliographic Instruction, and working closely with the Dean of
Libraries in planning and developing the library and its collections.

1969 - 1976-   ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/REFERENCE LIBRARIAN               

Initiated, organized, and developed a Library Orientation Program.
Taught BI classes on legal research, criminal justice, social sciences,
education, nursing, physics, chemistry, English, etc. (1974-1984).

Compiled subject bibliographies to compliment the Women's Studies Course bibliographies (on Women's Psychology, Women and Employment, Sex Discrimination, Women as Housewives, Women as Displaced Homemakers) from the sources located in the Lupton Library (1989).

Produced library handouts to facilitate the use of the following reference sources: Biological Abstracts, Biology Digest, and Biological Abstracts/RRM (1986-1987).  

Co-authored a computer program, "Know Your Library", to facilitate students' use of the library, and some simple reference tools, library catalog, and periodical indexes, published in APPLESOFTBASIC and Hewlett Packard SYSTEMS (1984).  

Completed a research report: "Business and Financial Affairs of the UTC Library" (1984).

Produced a list of Selected Legal Reference Resources(1982-1983) and a list of Selected Reference Resources (1980) in the UTC Library.

Produced a booklet for Basic Library Skills; helped modify the Key to the UTC Library, including sections on the card catalog, serials record, and other location information (1976).

Developed a slide/tape presentation: "Know Your Library", which was heavily used for orientation classes (1975).

Selected through a nationwide competition to participate in a conference on "Women in Librarianship"; submitted a paper, "Do Women Want to be Managers?" - research was done at UTC Library (1977).
