Jacques Maritain Center: This is a wonderful site with several full
texts of books on medieval scholasticism. I recommend the pieces by
Maritain, especially. But the site offers much more, including art
documents of interest to students of the late medieval and Renaissance
periods.
- Latitude:
How to Sail the World: Here one may find information on sailing during
the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
- Jakob
Burckhardt's Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy: the classic
text popularizing the modern view of Renaissance humanism as the beginning
of the modern world.
- Several
Italian Renaissance Writings: This wonderful site makes primary texts
by such authors as Petrarch (Petrarca), Bruni, Castiglione, and Alberti
available to students in English translation. Other resources are also
