Teaching Approach
I believe students learn best by doing, not simply listening to me speak. Therefore, my classes tend to be workshop and discussionbased.

Why did you become an English professor?

I didn't originally set out to be an English professor. My undergraduate degree was in Psychology. However, I realized my passion was for teaching, so eventually I decided to return to school to earn a Master's degree. I took Dr. Ingraham's Teaching College Writing course and never looked back.

Outside of being a professor, what do you do for fun and/or relaxation?

I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. I am an avid gamer and pop culture fanatic. I am also a die hard Braves and Falcons fan.

What are your expectations of students?

I expect members of my class to be scholars, not just students. As such, they should be open to challenging themselves to become better writers and thinkers.
