Teaching Approach
I am interested in using technology to a large extent in the classroom. I also believe in using a variety of instructional methods including short lectures, videos, group learning, and experiential learning. Whenever possible, lectures are minimized and students are encouraged to think critically and use technology to express themselves.

Why did you become an English professor?
I enjoy being in the classroom and especially interacting with the students. Too many faculty treat them like children, but I believe that if you treat them like adults, they will act accordingly.

Outside of being a professor, what do you do for fun and/or relaxation?
I love travelling with my wife and we have so far been to around 50 countries. I enjoy visiting my friends and family all over the world.

What are your expectations of students?
As mentioned earlier, I expect students to act as engaged, responsible adults in my classroom.

What's something about you that might surprise your students? I have completed 10 full marathons and nearly a hundred half-marathons in 5 different countries.
