Dr. Michaël Bonnal is a UC Foundation Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 2007. He received Master degrees in Economics from the University of Alabama and the University of Paris-East Marne-La-Vallée, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana Monroe, and Bachelor degrees in Economics from the University of Leeds and the University of Paris-East Marne-La-Vallée. Prior to being at UTC, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alabama’s Center for Business and Economic Research.
Dr. Bonnal’s areas of expertise lie in Labor Economics, Economic Growth and Economic Development. He has published reports and manuscripts on Employer Benefits Surveys, Counties and State Labor Profiles, Underemployment, Labor Standards, Labor Employment Dynamics, but also Political Institutions and Economic Development/Growth and Trade. His recent research was published in Business Economics, Review of Development Economics, Journal of Labor Research, and the Review of Regional Studies.
He has served as a referee for many journals including World Development, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Review of Development Economics, Review of International Economics, Journal of Economics and Finance Education,and the Journal of International Trade and Economic Development. He has also reviewed textbooks for many publishers including Addison Wesley, Worth, and McGraw-Hill.
He has taught the following classes: Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Concepts in Economics, Labor Economics, Game Theory, Economic Growth and Economic Development.
