Scholarships & Awards 


The UTC Parent & Family Association is proud to share that we have been able to establish one full Student Service Scholarship, as well as a Summer Internship!

 
 
Beginning in Spring 2016, the following award(s) will be given to students.  Any currently enrolled UTC student is eligible to apply, with preference given to students who are members of the UTC Parent & Family Association.  For further questions, contact Melita Rector at Melita-Rector@utc.edu or (423) 425-4761. 
 
 

Parent & Family Association Internship (Summer 2016) 


This internship is a wonderful opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students majoring in non-profit development, fundraising, marketing or other majors.  The student will work an average of 10 hours a week over the summer (June 1 - July 30, 2016) 

 

Duties

  • Promote the Association to Incoming Parents & Families at Summer Orientation Sessions

  • Manage Parent & Family Association Email Account, Social Media & Web Presence 

  • Manage registrations & database for Parent & Family Association Membership 

  • Recruit participation in the Summer Send Off Programs & register area families. 

 

Compensation 

$10/hour, to be paid biweekly (Maximum stipend amount: $1,000).  Additional requests to accommodate a course requirement can be discussed following offer.

Parent & Family Association Student Service Scholarship (Fall 2016) 


Award Amount: $2,100/semester.  Award may be granted multiple semesters. Award will be offered for Summer & Fall pending funding. 

 

Award Deadline: Friday August 5, 2016 @ 5 pm 
Award Notification: Wednesday August 10, 2016, with an offer of acceptance needed by Monday August 15, 2016 to post to MyMocsNet. 

 

Award Requirements

  • Application, which includes a Letter of Interest, 2 References (at least one from UTC Faculty or Staff), and records verification for grades and conduct. 
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, which must be maintained throughout scholarship award term. 
  • 125 Hours of Service through the Dean of Students Office in Spring 2016, assisting with Parent & Family Initiatives and Programs.
