New Student Orientation is the capstone of the enrollment process and the starting point for student life here at the University. Required for all new undergraduate students beginning at UTC in a fall term, these programs contain a wealth of information about academics and the University's many resources; as well as the spirit, colors, and tradition that make Chattanooga so unique. This mandatory one day program is designed specifically to prepare incoming UTC Transfers for success both in and out of the classroom. To reserve your spot, click the "Find Out More" link below. UTC Orientation is a family experience and as such we offer optional programming for parents, family members, and guest which takes place on the same day(s) as your student's Orientation! Whether you are a parent, guardian, significant other, etc. we recognize the important role you've played in helping get your student this far. We want to invite you to learn more about the University and the many resources and opportunities it provides; and allow us to welcome you and your student to the UTC family! Find Out More!
Summer Send Off Programs
This reception style event is designed to connect incoming UTC students and family members with alumni, staff, and current UTC students from their respective areas. The connections created during our Summer Send-Offs help new students feel included in the Chattanooga family before arriving in August. We're excited to partner with the UTC Alumni Chapters in each region to host these events!
Join us in the River City for an evening of celebration for the Memphis students & families who are joining the UTC Class of 2020! We will be at the River Inn from 5:30 - 7 pm on Monday August 1, 2016 and look forward to seeing you there!
Join us in downtown Nashville for an evening of celebration for the Nashville area students & families who are joining the UTC Class of 2020! We will be at Soulshine Pizza from 5:30 - 7 pm on Tuesday August 2, 2016 and look forward to seeing you there!
Join us in on campus for an evening of celebration for our fellow home-town students & families who are joining the UTC Class of 2020! We will be at the Patten House from 5:30 - 7 pm on Monday August 8, 2016 and look forward to seeing you there!
Join us in the River City for an evening of celebration for the Knoxville students & families who are joining the UTC Class of 2020! We will be at Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria from 5:30 - 7 pm on Tuesday August 9, 2016 and look forward to seeing you there!
We love our parents & families, and want to invite you to campus as often as we can. These programs are designed to bring our parents together, introduce you to our campus, and build a sense of connection to Chattanooga - a home away from home where your student will spend the next 4 years. We will send out more information to our PFA members as each program draws nearer.
The University looks forward to welcoming you and your student on campus for Operation Move-In! This whole campus celebration will be hosted on Thursday August 18, 2016 to welcome you to campus and celebrate our Class of 2020. We will have volunteers all day to assist with unloading and unpacking, a student celebration event and a family reception at the end of the day.

This exciting tradition returns to McKenzie Arena on Friday August 19, 2016 - hear from Chancellor Steve Angle, our SGA President, learn the UTC Fight Song & Cheers and celebrate your students first day as a MOC before sending them off to their Read 2 Achieve Book Discussion.
Following Convocation, we invite parents to join us for a candid discussion and question/answer session on what to expect over the next few weeks, commonly tapped resources and how the Parent & Family Association can support you.
September 9 - 10, 2016 ::: Our 5th Annual Family Weekend will be a great time - don't miss it! Special opportunities for parents & families to catch up with their student, have the opportunity to network with other UTC parents, see some great football and other Chattanooga must-do's!
October 2 - 8, 2016 ::: Join us for an exciting week filled with student activities, competitions, school spirit, and a great tailgate & football to wrap everything up.
Mocs Football will be Saturday October 8, and they'll take on the Mercer Bears for Homecoming!
