Coffeehouse Chats are small, informal gatherings held on Saturday mornings in March and April from 9:00am to 11:00am (local time) at neighborhood coffee shops. These events allow us to bring UTC to YOU. Come meet and mingle with other UTC families in your area to foster new connections and relationships. These events are FREE and refreshments will be provided.

New Student Orientation is the capstone of the enrollment process and the starting point for student life here at the University. Required for all new undergraduate students beginning at UTC in a fall term, these programs contain a wealth of information about academics and the University's many resources; as well as the spirit, colors, and tradition that make Chattanooga so unique. UTC Orientation is a family experience and as such we offer optional programming for parents, family members, and guest which takes place on the same day(s) as your student's Orientation! Whether you are a parent, guardian, significant other, etc. we recognize the important role you've played in helping get your student this far. Summer Send Off Programs
This reception style event is designed to connect incoming UTC students and family members with alumni, staff, and current UTC students from their respective areas. The connections created during our Summer Send-Offs help new students feel included in the Chattanooga family before arriving in August. We're excited to partner with the UTC Alumni Chapters in each region to host these events!

Programs for New UTC Families
We love welcoming our newest UTC families to campus. These programs are designed to help you build a sense of connection to the university and the city of Chattanooga - the place your student will call home for the next four years. Additional information will be sent out as each program draws nearer.
The University looks forward to welcoming you and your student on campus for Operation Move-In! This whole campus celebration will be hosted on Thursday August 17 to welcome you to campus and celebrate our Class of 2021. We will have volunteers all day to assist with unloading and unpacking, a student celebration event and a family reception at the end of the day.

Join the UTC Parent & Family Association for our official Welcome Reception to close out Operation Move In on Thursday, August 18 at 5:45pm. Come enjoy some delicious appetizers and refreshments with members of the UTC community and other families before you depart for the evening.
During the event, you will have an opportunity to write a note of encouragement to your new Moc that will be mailed during the first week of classes.

This exciting tradition returns to McKenzie Arena on Friday August 18 at 10am. Hear from Chancellor Steve Angle, our SGA President, learn the UTC Fight Song & Cheers and celebrate your students first day as a MOC before sending them off to their Read 2 Achieve Book Discussion.
Before Convocation, we invite parents to join us for a light breakfast and coffee in McKenzie Arena at Gate 3 starting at 8:45am. Families are welcome to sit anywhere in the gold section or above during the event.
