How to Join

Fraternity & Sorority Life

Per the 2015 - 2016 UTC Student Handbook, students interested in joining a fraternity or sorority affiliated with the university must have a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative High School GPA if they are an incoming freshman or a 2.5 cumulative college or transfer GPA if they are an returning or transferring student from another institution.   If you have any questions about the recruitment or membership intake process, please contact the Dean of Students Office at 423-425-2321. 

 

To Join a Panhellenic Association Sorority

Sororities in our Panhellenic Council will participate in recruitment beginning Tuesday, August 16 - Saturday, August 20, 2016.

Registration Costs:
Early Bird Registration           $85.00
Begins: May 16, 2016 at 8:00 PM EST 
Ends: June 12, 2016 at 11:59 PM EST

Regular Registration               $95.00
Begins: June 13, 2016 at 12:00 AM EST
Ends: June 31, 2016 at 11:59 PM EST

Late Registration                   $110.00
Begins: August 1, 2016 at 12:00 AM EST
Ends: August 7, 2016 at 11:59 PM EST

*No one will be permitted to register past the regular registration fee deadline
*ALL Payment must be received by Friday, August 28, 2016 at 5:00PM EST.

Students who are registered and meet academic and conduct eligibility requirements will be permitted to participate. Women living on campus will be required to move in from 8:00AM EST - 12:00PM EST on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.

To Join an Interfraternity Council Fraternity

Fraternities in our Interfraternity Council will participate in recruitment beginning Sunday, August 28- Saturday, September 3, 2016.

The regular registration fee ($25) begins Monday, May 16 through Friday, August 26, 2016 at 4:00PM EST.
*No one will be permitted to register past the regular registration fee deadline
*ALL Payment must be received by Friday, August 28, 2016 at 5:00PM EST.

Students who are registered and meet academic and conduct eligibility requirements will be permitted to participate. Potential new members are required to attend one of the Recruitment 101 sessions on August 25, 2016 OR August 26, 2016 in the UC Auditorium.

To Join a National Pan-Hellenic Sorority or Fraternity

Membership Intake for NPHC organizations vary from semester-to-semester and typically requires the successful completion of some university-academic credit.
