Academic Advising is an integral part of a student's education and ultimately graduation. This is why the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) professional advisors' mission is to assist students in developing academic plans that are relevant to their degree programs and life goals. Due to the importance of correct course selection and sequencing, the University requires all students to meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for courses each semester.
First-time students (summer and fall 2016) will meet with an advisor from the Center for Advisement (CASS) for their first 2 semesters.
Beginning the 3rd semester, students will meet with one of the CECS professional advisors until 90 hours have been earned.
Once 90 hours have been completed, students will be assigned a faculty advisor.
All transfer students will initially meet with a CECS professional advisor for at least their first 2 semesters.
