Undergraduate Advising

The College of Business at UTC is dedicated to student success and views academic advising as a vital component of the undergraduate business experience. Advising is designed to assist students in developing meaningful educational plans that support their academic and personal goals while providing a foundation for future career development and intellectual growth. Academic Advising is a shared responsibility between the College and business majors that reinforces the core values established in the College's mission of "producing academically-prepared and business-world ready men and women for a competitive global environment".

All Other Business Majors

If you came to UTC, or any other college, before Fall 2013 follow the Blue Bar link to schedule an appointment or to find out more information on your advisement.

The College of Business has 5 professional advisors available to meet with students as they progress through their business degree requirements. Advisors meet with students at freshman and transfer orientation and then on a regular basis each semester. Students are encourages to meet with professional advisors frequently throughout the academic year. Academic Advisors are not assigned to business majors. All advisors are knowledgeable in the degree requirements for all business programs so students may work with any College of Business Academic Advisor.

Walk-in Hours:
9:00 am - 4:00 pm (last sign in at 3:45 pm)

Walk-in hours are for "quick" questions that can be answered in 5-15 minutes and do not require any long-term planning or scheduling. Students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis and must sign in with the front desk in 216 Fletcher Hall by 3:45 pm. Students with questions regarding long-term planning, changing or adding a major, study abroad, appeals, etc. should schedule a 30 minutes advising appointment.

30 Minute Advising Appointment:
Monday - Friday
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Individual appointments are for long-term planning, discussing academic concerns, changing business majors, tracking graduation progress and the required semester advisement meeting. Students must make appointment online, in advance are an required to contact the College of Business Academic Advisement Center if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. (423.425.5111)
