Ashish Gupta is Associate Professor of Analytics and IS in the College of Business at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He earned his PhD in Management Science and Information Systems from Oklahoma State University. Prior to this, he was an Associate professor (tenured) at Minnesota State University, Moorhead. He has been a Visiting Research Scientist at Mayo Clinic Rochester and Visiting Associate Professor in Biomedical Informatics department at Arizona State University.
Dr. Gupta teaches Business analytics and big data related courses. His research interests are in the areas of data analytics, quality improvement, workflow and process modeling, simulation, healthcare delivery and outcomes, system design, decision-making, performance and productivity outcomes. His recent articles have appeared in premier journals such as Information Systems Journal, European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Frontiers, and Communications of the Association for Information Systems.
Professor Gupta serves on national grant reviewer panels for NSF, PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute). He has co-chaired conferences such as Midwest Association for Information Systems (MWAIS 2010), SHARP 2010, Sharp 2011, Enterprise and Organizational Modeling and Simulation- EOMAS 2011(London), EOMAS 2013 (Velencia, Spain) and organized various tracks and mini-tracks at AMCIS, HICSS, and INFORMS. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals such as Healthcare, IJDSST and IJITSA, and guest edited special issues of premier journals such as Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Journal, Annals of IS. Dr. Gupta currently serves as the past-President for MWAIS and is on the advisory board of AIS SIGMAS (modeling and simulation).
