Volunteer for Resume Reviews or MOC Interviews

What is Resume Week?

Resume Week takes place in September and January

Resume Week encompasses two different types of events over a four day period: Resume Drop-Ins and Real Resume Reviews. For Resume Drop-Ins, students bring a copy of their resume to the 2nd floor hallway of Fletcher for a 15-minute review by a DCS associate. This is good for a student who has a new resume or wants to prepare for the networking opportunities presented in the Real Resume Reviews event.

For the Real Resume Reviews event, we invite about 30 professionals who align to our academic programs over a two-day period. Students visit the Fletcher Hall Student Lounge with their resume to give managers and recruiters from participating companies (around 15 different organizations) a chance to provide their professional opinions of their resume through a 15-minute review while networking one-on-one with these high-impact business people. Bios of attending managers and recruiters are provided to students so they can plan who they want to meet. We encourage students to dress professionally and bring a business card to make a great first impression on our visitors. In the inaugural event in the fall of 2014, 105 students attended to seek resume reviews. In the spring of 2015, participation increased to 259 students. This is a great event for organizations interested in meeting many proactive students and reviewing their credentials in one fell swoop.

What is Moc Interview Week?

Moc Interview Week takes place in October and February

Moc Interview Week encompasses two different types of events over a four day period: Moc Interview Drop-Ins and Quick Questions. For Moc Interview Drop-Ins, students bring a copy of their resume to the Decosimo Success Center and meet with an associate in a nearby private office to participate in a 20 minute mock interview. This is good for a student who is new to interviewing or wants to prepare for the networking opportunities presented in the Quick Questions event.

For the Quick Questions event, we invite about 15 professionals who align to our academic programs over a two-day period. Students visit Fletcher Hall Student Lounge with their resume to give managers and recruiters from participating companies (around 10 different organizations) a chance to provide their professional opinions of their interviewing skills through a 20-minute review while networking one-on-one with these high-impact business people. Bios of attending managers and recruiters are provided to students so they can plan who they want to meet. We encourage students to dress professionally and bring a resume to make a great first impression on our visitors. In the inaugural event in the fall of 2014, 89 students attended to seek mock interviews. In the spring of 2015, participation increased to 100 students. Again, this is a great opportunity to make an impact on our graduating students while also potentially doing some recruiting for your company.
