COB Management Class Studies in Mexico

UTC students on Mexico study trip

Group's first day in Mexico at its host university, UPAEP, in Puebla, Mexico.

Twelve UTC students and College of Business professor, Dr. Frank Butler, spent ten days in Puebla, Mexico, visiting companies in the area, learning from business professors at UPAEP (a UTC partner university), and touring cultural sites in Puebla and Mexico City.  The August study trip was part of a new UTC management course, Mexican Culture & Doing Business in Mexico.

The UTC students who participated included graduate students from the MBA and Industrial/Organizational Psychology programs as well as undergraduate business, psychology, and communication students. The focus of the course was on the economic, political, and social issues surrounding Mexico's developing market and its business relations with the United States. It was designed to provide students with a truly real-world experience in international business and public relations so that they could understand the Mexican culture and learn the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Mexico.
