UTC String Project

Details:
The String Project at UTC provides an opportunity for school-aged children to learn a stringed instrument at a reasonable cost. Students receive private and group instruction on their chosen instrument from qualified music interns under the supervision of an experienced string music educator. Students in grades 3-12 may apply for admission to the program. If an orchestra exists at the student�s school, they must be enrolled in that group to participate in the String Project. UTC has a limited number of instruments available for rental.

For an exciting boost to combat the late January �blahs,� come and hear the Alexander-Soares Duo in concert at Cadek Recital Hall, at UTC, 725 Oak St., Chattanooga, on January 24, 2013 at 7:30 p.m., featuring James Alexander on violin, and Luciana Soares on piano. They will be performing music by Brazilian composer Liduino Pitombeira, Karol Szymanowski, and UTC composer Jonathan McNair, who is coordinating and hosting the concert. It is presented with the support of the UTC Speakers and Special Events Fund, and the UTC Department of Music.
