Details:
The UTC Music Department is pleased to present “An Evening of One-Acts” featuring the UTC Opera and Perry Ward, director. The performances will take place in the UTC Fine Arts Center, Roland Hayes Concert Hall, 752 Vine St., Chattanooga on Friday and Saturday, November 2 & 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. and will feature “The Impressario” by Mozart, Pergolesi’s “La Serva Padrona” and Ned Rorem’s “Fables”. The cast will include Sarah Chapman, Kala Cisson, Leigh Wattenbarger, Brittany Fong, Taylor Anne Goode, C. J. Coffey, Will Stetar, Jason Ryan O’Neal, and Connor Behrmann. A ticket will be required to attend the performances: general admission $10.00, students/senior citizens $7.00. XVI: 49” by Haydn, Schumann’s “Kreisleriana, Op. 16” and “Schatzwalzer” by Johann Strauss, as transcribed by renowned Hungarian composer and pianist Ernö Dohnanyi. The UTC Music Department is pleased to present “Trumpet Ensemble and Tuba/Euphonium Quartet”, directed by Erika Schafer and Kenyon Wilson, respectively. The performance will take place at the UTC Fine Arts Center, in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall, 752 Vine St., Chattanooga on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will include “Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30” by Richard Strauss, which is better known as the theme from Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, “Two English Madgrigals” as arranged by Mitchell Gershenfeld and, two original compositions by Kenyon Wilson; “Dance No. 3” and “Antepenultimate Tango”. The UTC Music Department is pleased to present a “Piano Studio Recital”, featuring the students of Dr. Sin-Hsing Tsai. The performance will take place at the UTC Fine Arts Center, in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall, 752 Vine St., Chattanooga on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. The evening’s performances will be comprised of piano compositions that will showcase the skill of Dr. Tsai’s student pianists and will include pieces that are written for 2, 4 and 8 hands. The recital will include compositions by; Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Arensky, Khachaturian and Ravel. It is presented free of charge and is open to the general public.
