Orla Fallon at UTC Fine Arts Center
Calendar: cal4
Posted by: Robert Boyer
Details:
Join us as we open the 2011-2012 Patten Performances with international celtic music superstar Órla Fallon, the former singer/harpist with Celtic Woman who has also recorded with the legendary Irish group Clannad and the acclaimed choral group Anuna.

Coming from from the village of Knockananna in Co.Wicklow, Ireland, Órla’s haunting, deeply moving renditions of traditional Irish airs and her self-penned compositions aroused the interest of musical director David Downes, who invited Fallon to join Celtic Woman in 2004. Now, after a number of years touring and recording with Celtic Woman, she has embarked on a career focusing on her solo work. Since leaving Celtic Woman at the end of 2008, Órla has been charting a solo path that has launched two American Public Television specials that have been aired in more than 100 markets so far.

Tickets are available at www.tickettracks.com or by calling the UTC Fine Arts Center box office, 423.425.4269.
