UTC String Project
Details:
The String Project at UTC provides an opportunity for school-aged children to learn a stringed instrument at a reasonable cost. Students receive private and group instruction on their chosen instrument from qualified music interns under the supervision of an experienced string music educator. Students in grades 3-12 may apply for admission to the program. If an orchestra exists at the student’s school, they must be enrolled in that group to participate in the String Project. UTC has a limited number of instruments available for rental. UTC College of Business "Springboard" Business Development Class
Details:
This course is open to individuals from all backgrounds – from artists to business people – who have aspirations of owning or running a business. Participants build a comprehensive business plan for their venture concept, learn to implement valuable management and marketing skills, and receive constructive feedback from an advisor, peers, and former graduates. It is best suited for participants who already have a clear business idea, as the material is applied to that concept’s development. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Music Department in conjunction with UTC’s Chancellors Office and Development office invite you to join us for a Gala Concert celebrating Roland Carter’s career and honoring his retirement. This event will take place on April 19th, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church at 401 Gateway Ave. in Chattanooga and will feature performances by soprano Gayle Robinson-Oturo, UTC’s Men’s Chorus, Chamber Singers and Chattanooga Singers. Also featured are special performances by Hampton University Concert Choir, Morehouse College Men’s Glee Club, and the Chattanooga Choral Society for the Preservation of African-American Song, all of whom are joining us especially for this occasion.
