Learn the basics of whitewater kayaking with this 3 day course. We will begin at the UTC Pool and learn the essentials of kayaking from paddling strokes to safety on a river. Test your newly learned skill as we go to the Hiwassee River on Saturday. All equipment is provided and no previous experience necessary. The UTC Music Department is pleased to present Master Chorale. The performance will be directed by Dr. Kevin Ford and accompanied by David Friberg and Robert Hansel. Assistant conductors are Denise Adeniyi, Gabrielle Haston and Kevin Moore. The performance will take place at Second Presbyterian Church, 700 Pine Str., on June 5 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is presented free of charge and is open to the general public. The purpose of the American Red Cross course is to teach candidates the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries. To enroll in this course you must be at least 15 years old by the last class of the course.
