The UTC Music Department is pleased to present a Choral Concert featuring The Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorale, directed by Roland Carter and Lee Harris. The Women’s Chorale will feature guest harpist Caroline Brown Hudson while the Men’s Chorus will be accompanied by Jenny Parker. It will take place in Patten Chapel, 648 Oak St., Chattanooga, on December 1 at 7:30 p.m., and is presented free of charge and is open to the general public. ACT workshops cover general information about the tests as well as individual sections for the ACT in English, Math, Science, and Writing. Each student receives 5-6 hours of classroom instruction and a workbook that has an additional 10-15 hours of supplementary work. The workbook includes an actual retired ACT test with explanatory answers, English and Math reviews, clearly outlined content overviews for each subsection, quick tip study guides, and additional retired ACT tests.

A simple practice anyone can learn, Proprioceptive Writing® (PW) is a form of contemplative writing that enables you to engage your thoughts and feelings in a way that awakens the wisdom inherent in your own mind. While writing proprioceptively, you become open, receptive, and focused. The mind is freed from anxiety and you are left feeling refreshed, energized, and restored to your natural state of vibrant aliveness.

•Required text for all courses: Writing the Mind Alive, The
Proprioceptive Method for Finding your Authentic Voice,
Metcalf and Simon, (Ballantine, 2002).
•Ms. Bright has taught Proprioceptive Writing for fifteen
years and still works closely with Drs. Metcalf and Simon,
the originators of the process.

Details:
The String Project at UTC provides an opportunity for school-aged children to learn a stringed instrument at a reasonable cost. Students receive private and group instruction on their chosen instrument from qualified music interns under the supervision of an experienced string music educator. Students in grades 3-12 may apply for admission to the program. If an orchestra exists at the student’s school, they must be enrolled in that group to participate in the String Project. UTC has a limited number of instruments available for rental.
