Burkett Miller Lecture Series Featuring Nobel Laureate Peter A. Diamond
Details:
Dr. Diamond will address the topic “Markets and Government.” Dr. Peter A. Diamond earned the Ph.D. in Economics from M.I.T., is currently an Institute Professor at M.I.T., and known for his analysis of U.S. Social Security policy. Dr. Diamond received the 2010 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his “analysis of markets with search frictions” in which he “analyzed the foundations of search markets.” His model “helps to understand the ways in which unemployment, job vacancies, and wages are affected by regulation and economic policy.” Sponsored by the Scott L. Probasco, Jr. Chair of Free Enterprise, this event is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
