UTC String Project
Details:
The String Project at UTC provides an opportunity for schoolaged children to learn a stringed instrument at a reasonable cost. Students receive private and group instruction on their chosen instrument from qualified music interns under the supervision of an experienced string music educator. Students in grades 3-12 may apply for admission to the program. If an orchestra exists at the student’s school, they must be enrolled in that group to participate in the String Project. UTC has a limited number of instruments available for rental. This is an in-depth review course for the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) examination. The CAP rating is the achievement of the internationally recognized standard of proficiency in the secretarial and administrative support professions. In today’s workplace, having the CAP credentials can be assurance of employability, pay increases, bonuses and opportunity for advancement. The CAP examination covers three main subject areas: • Office Administration • Office Systems and Technology • Management To receive CAP certification you must register and pay a fee to the International Association of Administrative Professionals. 2nd Annual UTC SmartGrid Workshop 2012
Details:
This workshop aims to discuss the latest predictions and provide networking opportunities to students, employers, and job seekers. The keynote session will provide a true insight on “Is Global Recession Threatening Smart Grid Deployments in USA?” A special session on “Smart Grid 2015” is specifically designed for technical managers to provide comprehensive knowledge on utility trends, implications, and key challenges envisioned in the next three years. An educational session is set up for researchers/students and aims to present latest innovations in smart generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption. Lastly, the panel discussion aims to bring the technical, financial, and regulatory experts to take a moment to assess if smart grid has been a smart or dumb investment so far. .6 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) will be available to participants for 6 contact hours. The cost to the individual is $10 and can be paid at the workshop with a check or credit card. There is no charge for the workshop, but registration is required.
